During Covid, we enjoyed all the little things people did in their yard, along the path, and in the neighborhoods that brought us some joy while we were out walking. So, I decided to build a life-size, standing model of our beloved PNW character. Some PVC, fur fabric, a fun mask, and adding sewing to my skill set, I built Squatch.
He was a hit. Since then I've dressed him up for lots of different occasions -- Halloween, Christmas, Winter, Summer, Baseball season, and the Start of School year. Neighborhood walkers and kids seem to enjoy the festiveness. I even received a request from a little girl for Squatch to wear a pink tutu (which he did).
After a couple years of that, I decided to make him go "live." I learned how to walk on stilts, sewed a new fur suit, and headed out.Â
